One quote that i like of this story was "One of the most influential people in my life is my former chess coach and current boss." Because its tells me that anyone could be a mentor to anybody no matter who they are.

Teaching Chess and Life- Discuss a Quote
Carlos Capellan lived in a neighborhood where drug dealers whistled at people and handed off small packages. Many people in the neighborhood were mostly inside the house and would hurry up to pick up their children. Carlos went to a gang-infested junior high school and wanted to stay out of trouble. So, Carlos joined the chess club and met his mentor/coach, Jeremy Chiappetta, as he was learning about chess and become more matured; he join the U.S. Amateur Team East. He was winning and become very happy but Chiappetta pulled him and taught him about sportsmanship. After his lesson, he became more responsible and was honored. Now, he wanted to become a mentor to other like Chiapetta was a mentor to him.

Teaching Chess and Life
Teaching Chess and Life by Carlos Capellan was about a boy who tried to stay out of trouble by joining the chess club. He learned a lot about chess and life. As he grew, he shared to everyone else. The comparison of Carlos and I was that he was living within the Chess Club while I was living in the sports. As a connection, i started to play sports so i can stay busy and also to stay out of trouble and well did Carlos, he joined the chess club to stay out trouble. As Chia, Carlos's mentor, my dad was my mentor by pushing me into sport and i that i could be better and just to stayed to it. Sports keep me going and to succeed in my goals by getting better and also by keeping my grades up, if not, i wouldn't be able to play. So just as Chess, Sports helped me more in school by staying busy and keeping me up in school.
